The University: Founded in 1831, Xavier University is a Jesuit, Catholic university in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA. Its three colleges offer 85 undergraduate majors, 54 minors and 11 graduate programs to 7,019 total students, including 4,368 undergraduates. The University is the sixth-oldest Catholic university in the nation and one of 28 Jesuit colleges and universities nationwide.
The MBA program: AACSB International accredited since 1994, the Master’s of Business Administration program at Xavier University in the Williams College of Business offers 7 concentrations. The program has approximately 1000 full and part-time students, 3% of which are from countries outside the USA. Average class size is 27 for core courses and 20 for elective courses. The program also offers its own professional development center open only to MBA students and alumni of the MBA program to increase the focus on helping each MBA student with career questions, résumé critics and many other services and workshop opportunities. Located in Cincinnati, OH, the Midwest region of the United States, the University is located just minutes from downtown Cincinnati and within the area of Proctor and Gamble, General Electric, Kroger, Macy’s and several other fortune 500 companies.
Admission & Academics
Documents required for MBA admission & the minimum requirements:
- Completed online application: Go to www.xavier.edu/mbaand click on apply online. A paper application is not necessary. Online applications are submitted directly to the MBA office.
- Official TOEFL, IELTS, PTE, MELAB or EIKEN scores: Official scores must be sent to Xavier from the testing company. The minimum score accepted for TOEFL is a 550 on the paper based test or a 79 on the internet based test. To find out more on the TOEFL, please visit their website. The minimum score for IETLS is 6.5. The minimum score for the PTE is 65. The minimum for the MELAB is 80. The minimum for the EIKEN is Grade 1.
- GMAT or GRE: Official GMAT or GRE scores must be sent to Xavier from the testing company. The minimum score accepted for GMAT is a 470 total, a quantitative percentile of 25-99% and an Analytical Writing score of 3.0 or higher. GRE minimums must meet the GMAT equivalents.
- Transcripts: Official transcripts must be submitted to Xavier in a sealed envelope from the institution and must be translated into English. A photocopy of the degree certificate is needed if the degree is not posted on the transcripts.
- Official Evaluation of transcripts from the World Education Service or Educational Credential Evaluators: Evaluation may be necessary to calculate the GPA and degree equivalent to the US post-secondary system.
- Other documents required with the application are: resume or CV, 1 letter of recommendation, a copy of your passport photo/information page.

Wins Cincinnati ACG Cup
CINCINNATI, 2 Mar 2012 -- On February 29, the MBA student team from the Williams College of Business at Xavier University won the ACG Cincinnati Cup competition at the University of Cincinnati. The winning team members are (pictured left to right): Manoj Srivastava, Hamir Mahajan, Mark Momper and Michael Deye.
The application deadlines are:
- Fall semester (classes begin at the end of August) - June 1.
- Spring semester (classes begin in early January) - November 1.
The Full time program is on a semester system. 3 Credit hour courses last for 16 weeks with 2 credit hour courses lasting 7 weeks. A total of 9 credit hours per semester are required for all full-time students. Classes are offered in the late afternoon, early evening and Saturday days to leave time for study, on campus job, internships or campus activities during the day and allow full-time students to attend courses with working professionals. There are MBA advisors to assist you with scheduling classes each term as the schedule is flexible.

Information for International Students
Intensive English Program (English as a Second Language): is offered at Xavier with classes beginning in Spring, Summer and Fall semesters. Application for admission to this program is separate from admission to other undergraduate or graduate programs at Xavier. - Financing for the MBA and other programs: the MBA program and other graduate programs at Xavier offer Graduate Assistantship (GA) positions to full-time, fully admitted graduate students. These positions are awarded by the department offering the position and the person is chosen via an application process. There are also small grants available to MBA students. - Other grants and scholarships: are available to students admitted to the undergraduate programs at Xavier. Information on these options can be found by visiting http://www.xavier.edu/financial-aid/.
- Housing: International students are eligible for housing on campus. However, on campus housing is not guaranteed to graduate students. Most graduate students choose to live around campus as there are an array of housing options available within walking or biking distance. The Center for International Education has a listing of landlords and housing that are International student friendly. If you would like to live on campus, a deposit is required by the first of May to reserve a space. Expenses
Current expense requirements for the I-20 for the MBA program are below. The tuition rates at Xavier typically increase each summer term about 3-5% (rates are posted online at www.xavier.edu/bursar). Graduate program rates are per credit hour taken each semester. The Center for International Education can provide you with the estimated expenses for an I-20 for each program and academic year. The climate in Cincinnati ranges from hot and humid at the peak of summer to cold and snowy at the peak of winter.
