The Learning Curve
ERAU’s strength lies in its exceptional academic programs in the fields of flight, engineering, technology and space. Our programs represent the world’s most comprehensive collection of aviation-and-aerospace-focused majors being taught anywhere today. Our cutting-edge facilities in Daytona Beach include our Flight Simulation Center, the Lehman Engineering and Technology Center (complete with wind tunnels and labs for aircraft design), Air Traffic Control Simulation Laboratories, and the Samuel Goldman Aviation Technology Center.
A Research Leader
- ERAU is currently performing research under 143 federal, state and privately funded grants and contracts value at more than $28.6 million. Sponsoring organization include The Boeing Company, JetBlue, the FAA, NASA, Gulfstream, the National Science Foundation and others.
- ERAU has a $30 million, 10-year contract with the U.S. Department of Defense that maintains the university’s status as the sole provider of aviation-related degree programs to the U.S. military in Europe.
Up Up and Away!
- Embry-Riddle's undergraduate aeronautical science (professional pilot) program is the largest in the United States, and the first to employ the revolutionary ADS-B (Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast) technology.
- The Daytona Beach Campus fleet of aircraft includes a Decathlon, 6 Piper Arrows, 41 Cessna 172s, and 10 Diamond DA 42s equipped with the Garmin G-1000 glass cockpit. Our on-campus flight line is adjacent to Daytona Beach International Airport. ERAU offers state-of-the-art flight training devices to help students hone their skills.
- In addition to the best equipment, ERAU also offers students a chance to learn from the best instructors. Where else can a professor teaching flight physiology include his personal experiences of flying an F-16 fighter aircraft?
How High Can You Fly?
The Honors Program offers motivated students special honors housing in the residence halls, small, discussion-oriented classes; and the access to an Honors Student Association that connects students with campus and community activities.
